Description
Shimo yarn combines the delicate halo of kid mohair with the luminous sheen of silk. Light, fluffy, and airy, it creates a gossamer fabric with a soft glow and gentle drape. The silk core takes dye with brilliance, while the mohair halo diffuses the colours into a dreamy, sophisticated look. Perfect on its own for feather-light shawls or held together with another yarn to add warmth, volume, and a subtle haze.

Care
Hand-dyed yarns, especially in deeper tones, may release a small amount of excess dye during the first wash. Gently hand wash in cold water using a mild wool detergent, and lay flat to dry. Avoid soaking for long periods. For stronger colors, a pre-wash before combining with lighter yarns is recommended to minimize any potential dye release. Adding a little vinegar to the rinse water can also help maintain color balance.
We recommend buying enough yarn for your project at once to ensure consistent color, as shades may vary between dye lots.
